Office Administration

Time Commitment 1 to 4 hours per week
Location Burnaby office
Work type Indoors, administration

Activities General Administration − typing, filing, tax receipt generation
Social Media − updating Facebook and website using WordPress
Membership − updating database & coordinating mail outs

Outreach

Time Commitment 2 to 4 hours per week
Location Burnaby office
Work type Indoors, administration
Timing Year around
Skills Excellent command of English, Microsoft Word, Excel
Activities Attending events, research, writing
Green Ribbon Campaign Sign up retail locations for donation boxes
Enlist corporate sponsor support
Drivers − drop off/pick up Green Ribbon boxes (Lower Mainland)
Funding Proposals Research appropriate funding sources
Design and deliver winning funding proposals

Wildlife Research

Time Commitment 1 to 4 hours (as available)
Location Burnaby office
Work type Indoors, administration
Timing Year around
Skills Background in Environmental Science, Biology or Zoology, excellent command of English, Microsoft Word, Excel, experience with Facebook and Wordpress
Activities Research and deliver education grade articles for our 2 newsletters, website and Facebook.

Environmental Education Programs

Time Commitment: 3 to 6 hours (to be determined by activity)
Location: Class rooms, parks or shoreline
Work type: Indoors, Outdoors, low to strenuous physical activity
Timing: Year around
Skills: Background in Environmental Science, Biology or Zoology, excellent command of English, some photography experience
Activities Assist NWPS Education & Communication Coordinator deliver environmental education programs to school aged children and adults
In School Programs (3 hour commitment/indoors/low activity) Assist with delivery of program materials to various schools in Lower Mainland
Help with program set up
Assist NWPS educator with class questions
Photograph presentation and class participation (as appropriate)
Nature Walk & Workshops − 4 hour commitment/outdoors/medium activity Assist with delivery of program materials to various regional park locations within the Lower Mainland
Help coordinate students on nature walk
Assist NWPS educator with class questions
Photograph walk and workshop activities and class participation (as appropriate)
Estuaries Steward Projects − 6 hour commitment/outdoor/strenuous activity
Assist with delivery of program materials to Fraser River Estuary site
Help coordinate students on various activities
Assist NWPS educator with class questions
Photograph before and after pictures of work site and class participation (as appropriate)
Woody debris and garbage clean up
